Yeşim Bulca

Life and work

The story behind the role.

Yeşim Bulca is a physical education and teacher-education researcher. Yeşim Bulca completed METU physical education teacher training in 1987–1993, an Ankara sports-health master’s in 1997–1999 and an Ankara education doctorate in 2004–2008.

Taught physical education at the METU Development Foundation primary school in 1994–1997 and worked as an Ankara University research assistant in 1997–2000. Hacettepe records research-assistant service in 2002–2005, lectureships from 2005 and associate professorship from 2020.

Yeşim Bulca was a visiting researcher at Ohio State in 2011–2012. Yeşim Bulca served as deputy head of her Hacettepe department in 2014–2020. Her published work includes a 2022 study of a video physical-activity programme and physical education students’ fitness.
