Life and work
The story behind the role.
Ülviye Bilgin is a professor in Gazi University's Physical Education and Sport Education Department. She completed her undergraduate degree at Gazi from 1988 to 1992, a master's degree from 1992 to 1995 and a doctorate in physical education and sport from 1997 to 2002.
Her academic career began as a Gazi research assistant in 1992 and progressed through lecturer and assistant-professor posts. She served at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in 2010–11, including as head of its Coaching Education Department, and later served as deputy dean of Gazi's Faculty of Sport Sciences from 2016 to 2020.
Her teaching includes handball, physical fitness, lifelong sport and research methods. Published work covers mental training and emotion regulation, competitive anxiety, football academy players, movement analysis, gymnastics, exercise and well-being, and parents' and teachers' awareness of sport for students with intellectual disabilities.
