Pedro Mendes
Volleyball coach whose international career includes an Eczacıbaşı VitrA assistantship.
Life and work
The story behind the role.
Pedro Mendes worked under Marco Motta at Eczacıbaşı VitrA, providing individual training, match preparation and statistical analysis. Northwestern’s biography places this work in the 2019–20 season and records the club’s runner-up finish at the world club championship.
Mendes subsequently led Hylte/Halmstad in Sweden to league and cup titles before joining Minnesota in 2022 and Northwestern in February 2023. His Minnesota work focused on middle blockers; that team finished fourth nationally in blocks per set in 2022. He studied physical education at UniFunvic in São Paulo.
