Research assistant in ALKÜ's Recreation department.
Life and work
The story behind the role.
Onur Ceyhan is a research assistant in the Recreation department of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University's Faculty of Sport Sciences.
His research addresses the social and psychological dimensions of leisure. His DergiPark author record explicitly links him to ALKÜ's Recreation department and identifies leisure sociology, sport sociology and recreation as his research fields.
With Elvan Deniz Yumuk, he co-authored a study published on 28 March 2026 examining leisure involvement and psychological wellbeing among 199 recreational football participants. This was a correlational survey, rather than an intervention trial. His publication record also includes work with Yumuk, Hamdi Alper Güngörmüş and other colleagues on cyclists' motivation and wellbeing in 2025 and on serious leisure, activity satisfaction and wellbeing in mat exercise in 2026.
