Mehmet Akif Üstündağ
TVF president, FIVB Volleyball Council president, former volleyball player and coach.

Life and work
The story behind the role.
Mehmet Akif Üstündağ is the president of the Türkiye Volleyball Federation (TVF). The federation's current board page lists him as president, and the 18 October 2024 general assembly elected him to a third consecutive term after he received 121 of 218 votes cast.
His route into administration followed playing and coaching. In a TVF address to prospective national referees, Üstündağ said that he had worked in volleyball as a player, coach and administrator and had spent about ten years as federation vice-president with responsibility for leagues, the central referee board and education before becoming president in 2016. An Ankara City Council profile records playing spells with Galatasaray, Petrol Ofisi, Köy Hizmetleri and Muhafızgücü.
Internationally, the FIVB lists him as president of its Volleyball Council for the 2024–2028 cycle. The FIVB has also published his reflections on Türkiye's 2023 national-team successes and the country's event-hosting programme. These dated appointments are distinct from his earlier playing and coaching careers.
