Life and work

The story behind the role.

Jacob Adoni, known as Jake in Gettysburg College’s roster, was Türkiye’s goalkeeper at the 2014 world lacrosse championship. His college biography explicitly connects him to that team; World Lacrosse’s national roster uses the name Jacob Adoni and lists Gettysburg.

His sporting background includes both ice hockey and lacrosse. At Germantown Academy he played goalkeeper in each sport, captained the hockey team and earned all-conference hockey recognition three times. Gettysburg’s 2016 roster lists economics as his major and business as his minor.

After making no college appearances in 2013, he played five games and made his first two starts in 2014. His first start included six saves in a 17–6 win at Goucher. Gettysburg records six appearances, a 1.97 goals-against average and an .833 save percentage for his 2015 season.

At the 2014 world championship he played every minute of Türkiye’s eight games, according to Gettysburg, and finished with a .656 save percentage. World Lacrosse separately records 19 saves in the 9–4 victory over Mexico.
