Life and work
The story behind the role.
İrfan Gülmez completed his undergraduate, master’s and doctoral education at Marmara University, focusing his research on athlete performance and strength training. An Olympic Solidarity scholarship took him to the World Coaches Academy at the US Olympic training centre.
His official academic record documents Turkish badminton national-team coaching, tennis coaching in Sakarya and strength-and-conditioning work for major Turkish clubs. It also records athletic-performance responsibility with the Turkish Swimming Federation during 2019–2024, alongside teaching and research in Marmara’s coaching department.
