The story behind the role.

The Türkiye Football Federation's named interview identifies Gülhan Gündüz as the expert leading its Wellbeing and Child Protection department. She describes earlier child-protection work with Galatasaray and says the federation role began after Fatih Terim took office, with work on institutional standards, coach education, reporting routes and club child-protection representatives.

Her specialist education is detailed in the TFF interview. She reports overseas training in child-abuse investigations, specialisation in building first-response systems for missing, abducted and exploited children, and Amber Alert train-the-trainer education. She also says she attended UEFA A, UEFA B, Elite and Pro-license environments to study football practice and worked with national-team coaches and football-village programmes. The source does not state a university degree, so none is asserted.

The same interview provides an explicit identity bridge to earlier sport, stating that Gündüz had been a gymnast. That is retained as an earlier athlete role without adding unverified competition claims.

Later TFF reporting identifies her as coordinator of the Athlete Wellbeing and Child Protection Board. In 2023 she represented the federation with a presentation at FIFA's Athlete and Child Safeguarding Seminar in Zürich, and TFF reports also record her delivering applied safeguarding and wellbeing education within coach-development programmes.

An Anadolu Agency report dated 6 May 2024 states that FIFA appointed her as a Safeguarding and Diversity Manager for the 2026 World Cup. This profile records the appointment, not an unsupported claim about duties completed at the tournament.

Committee membership alone is not the basis for inclusion: her coordinating, training, policy and international safeguarding work is explicit. Türkiye is an organisational affiliation through TFF and Galatasaray work; no citizenship inference is made.
