Gıyasettin Demirhan is a sport pedagogy researcher and professor. Gıyasettin Demirhan completed a master’s in educational sciences at Hacettepe (1987–1991) and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction there (1991–1995).
His 1995 doctoral work examined student-centred methods, achievement and retention in learning sport skills. Hacettepe lists research-assistant service in 1992–1996, assistant professorship in 1996–1998, associate professorship in 1998–2004 and professorship from 2004.
The institutional record identifies his department as Physical Education and Sports Teaching in the Faculty of Sport Sciences. Gıyasettin Demirhan served as Faculty of Sport Sciences dean in 2015–2017; the profile also records department leadership from 2013.
