The story behind the role.
Deniz Hünük is a physical education and professional-learning researcher. Deniz Hünük completed Hacettepe undergraduate (1998–2003) and master’s (2003–2006) education, followed by a METU doctorate in 2006–2013.
Her doctoral work examined communities of practice, teachers’ health-related fitness knowledge and student learning. Deniz Hünük worked at Pamukkale University as a research assistant in 2013–2016 and assistant professor in 2016–2018.
Hacettepe lists associate professorship from 2021 and Faculty of Sport Sciences board membership from 2023. Graduate supervision addresses teachers’ use of fitness knowledge and student experiences of sport-education models. Published 2023 research examines teacher–student construction of physical-activity knowledge and collaborative action research in teacher education.
