Swimming academic, coach and open-water official.
He studied at Ege University and completed postgraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University in 1994, becoming professor in 2009. His swimming coaching began at Karşıyaka in 1978 and continued at Tuborg/Pınar and Ege University.
His career includes federation board leadership, national-team coaching, LEN open-water technical and refereeing duties, and academic training-science research. He received LEN’s Golden Pin in 2018.
