Doctors
Ayhan Optur
Long-serving Beşiktaş club doctor for basketball and amateur branches.
Life and work
The story behind the role.
Op. Dr Ayhan Optur is listed as club doctor for the Beşiktaş BOA women's basketball team. Beşiktaş has documented a much longer institutional association: a 2026 club magazine feature described him as having served the club continuously for 25 years.
His responsibilities have extended across Beşiktaş's amateur branches. In October 2020, the club published a signed medical update from Optur in his capacity as the amateur-branches doctor, while Beşiktaş's 2011 women's-basketball staff record already listed him as team doctor.
The evidence supports a long-term clinical role in club sport. It does not establish coaching, playing or administrative authority, so this profile remains in the Doctors directory only.
