The story behind the role.
Abdulhamit Tayfur completed a physiotherapy and rehabilitation bachelor’s degree at Hacettepe University in 2013 and a sports physiotherapy master’s degree there in 2016. Between 2013 and 2017 he worked with Türkiye’s senior volleyball teams and top-division volleyball and basketball clubs; his CV specifically records Ziraat Bankası during 2014–2016.
He joined Queen Mary University of London’s tendon research group in 2017 and completed a doctorate in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy in 2022. He then joined Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. His institutional biography identifies patellar tendinopathy in jumping athletes, tendon biomechanics, landing mechanics and rehabilitation among his research interests, with a visiting postdoctoral research period at the University of Michigan in 2024.
