On 18 January, Senegal defeated host Morocco 1-0 after extra time in Rabat, with Pape Gueye scoring in the 93rd minute. That was the result reported by CAF on the night and is the event that belongs in a chronological January archive.

The official status later changed. On 17 March, the CAF Appeals Board applied Article 84, declared Senegal to have forfeited the final and recorded a 3-0 result for Morocco. Because a sports archive must distinguish the on-field result from the current governing-body record, both are shown here with dates.
